Product Safety & Liability Statement

Product: The Second Wind (“Product”)

Product description and intended use

The Second Wind is a physical accessory designed for use with compatible backpack blowers to route a stream of air toward the operator to improve comfort in hot conditions. It is intended for outdoor use only and must be used only as described in this statement and consistent with the backpack blower manufacturer’s instructions.

No professional services disclaimer

The Product is sold as a consumer product accessory only. No professional engineering, safety consulting, occupational health, or other professional services are provided in connection with the sale, installation, or use of the Product. Any decisions regarding installation, setup, and use are made solely by the end user.

Mandatory PPE and safe operation requirements

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times while operating a backpack blower with the Product installed. At minimum, use:

  • Hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs)

  • Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles)

  • Face protection (face shield recommended)

  • Work gloves

  • Long pants and sturdy, closed-toe footwear

  • Dust mask/respirator when operating in dusty conditions or where airborne debris is expected

Operate only when you have safe footing and full attention, and keep bystanders and pets at a safe distance.

Critical direction and aiming warnings

  • Never point the Product or any blower airflow outlet at or near the face, eyes, ears, or head.

  • Do not direct airflow toward the neck or breathing area.

  • The Product should only be oriented so airflow is directed across the torso and/or legs for comfort—never upward toward the face.

Prohibited uses

  • Do not use indoors or in enclosed spaces.

  • Do not use on blowers that are also equipped with spraying capabilities.

  • Do not use near open flames, sparks, hot ash, combustible dust, volatile chemicals, or flammable materials.

  • Do not use while standing on ladders, roofs, or elevated surfaces.

  • Do not operate near traffic or in situations where safe footing and full attention cannot be maintained.

  • Do not use in a way that directs debris toward people, pets, vehicles, windows, or finished surfaces.

Prohibited modifications (blower and product)

  • Do not modify the backpack blower in any way not recommended by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

  • Do not drill, cut, or alter blower tubes/hoses or the Product to force fitment.

  • Do not use improvised adapters, clamps, or attachments that are not provided or expressly recommended by the Company.

  • Any modification to the blower or Product not expressly recommended by the OEM or the Company voids all warranties and may create unsafe operating conditions. Damage resulting from such modifications is not the responsibility of the Company.

Installation and inspection obligations

Before each use:

  • Confirm all connections, clamps, and couplers are secure.

  • Ensure airflow paths are unobstructed and the Product is properly oriented.

  • Stop use immediately if you observe loose fitment, reduced blower performance, unusual vibration, overheating odor, cracking, component deformation, or separation at any joint.

Foreseeable hazards and assumption of risk

Operating backpack blowers and related accessories involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: flying debris, dust/aerosolized particles, high-velocity airflow, noise exposure and hearing loss, respiratory irritation, loss of balance, heat stress/dehydration, bystander injury, and property damage. Improper installation or misuse may increase these risks.

By purchasing, installing, or using the Product, the user knowingly and voluntarily assumes all such risks and agrees to operate the Product only in accordance with:

  • this Safety & Liability Statement,

  • required PPE, and

  • the blower OEM’s instructions and safety warnings.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of use, business interruption, downtime, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or related to the Product, its installation, use, misuse, or inability to use.

The Product is a consumer accessory and does not constitute professional engineering advice or services. In no event shall the Company’s total liability for any claim exceed the amount paid for the Product giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to: (a) misuse, improper installation, or prohibited modifications; (b) failure to use required PPE; (c) operation inconsistent with OEM instructions; or (d) use around bystanders/pets or in unsafe environments.

Important notice

This statement is not a substitute for training, safe work practices, or OEM instructions. If you are uncertain about safe operation or proper installation, do not use the Product.
